Teak Deck Cleaning & Protection
DRYACHT Teak Deck Maintenance, Cleaning, and Protection
Teak is the king of yacht decks. However, a gray, mossy, or dried-out teak deck ruins your boat's appeal. At DRYACHT, we apply special maintenance protocols aimed at extending the life of your teak deck without damaging its natural grain.
Common Mistakes
Scrubbing with hard brushes and high-pressure water digs out soft grain, making the surface rough and reducing lifespan. DRYACHT uses "soft cleaning" techniques perpendicular to the grain.
Our Process
1. Deep Cleaning & Brightening
Two-step chemical cleaning using Wessex or Teak Wonder. Acid cleaner removes dirt/grease; Brightener restores the natural golden color and kills mold spores.
2. Sanding (If needed)
Light dust-free sanding (P80-P120) to restore velvety smooth surface if the deck has become rough.
3. Caulking Renewal
We check Sika joints. Damaged caulking causes leaking. We cut out old caulking, prime, and re-caulk using Sikaflex 290 DC PRO.
4. Sealing
We recommend Teak Sealer (Semco). It impregnates the wood, doesn't form a film, maintains non-slip properties, and provides UV protection (3-6 months delay in graying). We can also apply Nanotechnology sealers to prevent wine/oil stains.
Why DRYACHT?
We preserve teak thickness. We use original products. We mask hardware for clean work. Treat your deck—one of the most expensive parts of your yacht—with professional care.
