Compound & Polishing
DRYACHT Premium Yacht Compounding & Polishing Service
At DRYACHT, we restore your yacht's faded, dulled, and scratched surfaces to their factory-fresh brilliance. Beyond ordinary polishing, DRYACHT's service is a scientific and technical process involving the microscopic restoration of gelcoat or paint surfaces.
Why Professional Compounding & Polishing?
The marine environment is incredibly harsh. Salt water, constant UV exposure, acid rain, and exhaust fumes cause oxidation (chalking) on hull surfaces over time. This porous oxidation layer traps dirt and salt, accelerating degradation. DRYACHT professional service performs three key functions: removing the oxidation barrier, correcting the surface profile to eliminate micro-scratches for maximum light reflection and gloss, and creating a protective shield against UV and salt.
The DRYACHT 5-Stage Shine System
Every boat is different. DRYACHT experts follow a customized protocol based on surface condition (gelcoat age, oxidation level, paint type):
1. Deep Decontamination
Removing all salt, grease, old wax residues, and industrial fallout using special chemicals to strip the surface naked before polishing.
2. Heavy Cut Compounding
Using rotary polishers and wool pads with aggressive compounds (Menzerna Marine, 3M Perfect-It) to "shave off" heavy oxidation and deep scratches.
3. Medium Cut
Removing swirls left by heavy compounding and smoothing the surface using foam pads.
4. Finishing & Hologram Removal
Key to the DRYACHT difference. Using Dual Action (DA) orbital machines and ultra-fine polishes to eliminate every trace of swirls, achieving deep "wet look" gloss.
5. Protection
We seal the perfection with either High-Content Carnauba Wax (3-6 months protection, natural deep shine) or Nano-Ceramic Coating (18-24 months protection, glass-hard shield, extreme hydrophobicity).
Equipment & Materials
- Machines: Rupes BigFoot, Flex, Festool (Professional series managing surface heat)
- Compounds: Menzerna (Germany), 3M Marine (USA), Gyeon (Korea)
- Pads: Lake Country wool and foam pads
Detailed Areas
Hull, Superstructure, Cockpit and Flybridge Gelcoat areas, Stainless steel fittings.
Why DRYACHT?
We guarantee a professional application without "burning" the surface, leaving holograms using fillers, or thinning edges. Our certified technicians understand the critical difference between treating painted surfaces (Awlgrip/Alexseal) versus gelcoat. Wrong polishing on paint can ruin it; with DRYACHT, your investment is safe. Best for pre-season prep or pre-sale value boosting.
