Surface cracks (spider cracks) — only gelcoat. Structural cracks — through laminate, water ingress risk. Punctures — full holes from impact. Delamination — layer separation (hollow sound on tap test). Deck delamination — core separation from water ingress and load.
3. Repair Process
Damage analysis (tap test, UV lamp, ultrasonic measurement) → opening the damage area (V/U groove) → selecting resin (epoxy for structural/underwater, polyester for surface repairs) → lamination layer by layer, removing air bubbles → curing 48–72 hours → sanding and gelcoat colour matching → polishing for invisible finish.
